Welcome to the ChildCare Education Institute newsletter!  This month CCEI discusses field trip implementation and safety.

Field trips in the early childhood setting can be a fun and exciting time for young children. Field trips allow children to explore and experience activities to which they may not otherwise be exposed.

To ensure the safety and security of every child during a field trip, it is important for staff members to understand and implement proper field trip procedures. ChildCare Education Institute offers guidelines for safety in field trip transportation through the course CCEI110C. We encourage you to continue your professional growth by completing this and other CCEI professional development courses.

The subject of this month’s Online Learning Community Discussion Thread is Field Trip Safety.

Children may be asked to look at what they normally see with new eyes, or they may have the opportunity to see things to which they have not been previously exposed. Ideas about the purposes of taking field trips are as varied as the types of early childhood programs that exist. Read Article
